About Kristen Bailey

I knew I wanted to be a writer back in grade school, when I
saved up and bought my own typewriter. Now I'm
twenty-seven and a mother to three, so I write when I can.
Since family is such a large part of my life, my stories
naturally feature complicated family relationships,
friendships, other complications of life, and nature.

I've written a young adult historical novel, romance novels,
literary short stories, a science fiction short story, and flash
fiction. An idea strikes me and simmers into a story, finding
the format that best fits it. Last year, I started a small
publishing venture, Brilliant Book Press, and found  the
business side of publishing is a new and exciting
adventure. Brilliant has grown into an editing service
because I realized so many authors are self publishing and
need an editor. I also enjoy working with my new
publishers, Midnight Showcase and Lachesis Publishing.

I live in central Oregon (the beautiful Umpqua Valley) with
my three children. We enjoy camping, cycling, and trips to
places throughout our region including the coast and
mountains. The kid in me loves celebrations of any kind
and exploring in the forest.
